Are you depressed? Have you ever been depressed?

I was. For years, I struggled, cried, and felt like I couldn’t even get out of bed.

I get it.

Do you want to feel better? Do you want to make sure it never comes back?

Then I’m your gal.

But, here’s the deal . . .

I want so much to condense my journey into 30 minutes, tell you all about it, and make you feel better

but it doesn’t work that way.

I want to grab your hand and run you towards a happy life

but you’d trip.

I want to talk energetically to show you how much better it can be

but you wouldn’t be able to take it in.

I want to challenge you and tell you the steps I took to heal

but you’d be overwhelmed.

I want you to feel better

but you have to feel it yourself.

I want to scream at you for eating chocolate cake

but that wouldn’t help.

I want to buy you a pair of shoes and make sure you go on a walk every day

but that’s up to you.

I want to hear all your negative thoughts and tell you they aren’t true

but you need to do that yourself.

I want to explain how to have self confidence

but it comes from your self.

I want you to stop letting your emotions run your life

but they’re your emotions.

I want you to believe in yourself

but only you can do that.

I want you to let go of the screwed up ideas someone gave you about yourself

but only you can let them go.

I want you to be hopeful

but only you can do that.

I want you to be free to love

but only you can open the door of your heart.

I want to fix it for you.

But it’s not my job. I’m not the savior of the world. I’m just a friend who’s walked the same path.

You have to do it.

You have to decide.

This is your path.

I’ll be your biggest cheerleader!

But give me excuses and I’ll call you out on them.

Do you believe you’re capable?

I do.

Do you believe there’s another way to live?

I know there is.

Do you believe you can be done with this for good?

I know you can.

Are you ready?

Is it bad enough to give up what’s making you sick?

I was desperate enough to try anything.

Are you willing to acknowledge you’ve been wrong?

If not, this’s gonna be hard.

My prayers will help

but God wants your actions more.

What’s your first step?
