When we write, thoughts come out of our subconscious mind and land on paper. They are much more useful in a journal than in this unconscious place. As the words lay there on the page, the reality of them stares back at us.

Writing

Journaling gives us an opportunity to vent. Even if we never intend to send the written words, it’s useful just to get thoughts on paper. The act of holding a pen and writing the words slows us down enough to truly process our thoughts.

A second or third reading of your journaled ideas reveals even more of what your reflections actually mean. Rereading what you have written brings you into an even clearer revelation of the thoughts and ideas that are driving your behavior.

What’s Beneath?

The conscious mind is just the tip of the iceberg. Beneath it, in your nonconscious mind, lies your motivations, fears, emotions, and every conversation you’ve ever had. Those memories are affecting your behavior in ways you may not be consciously aware of. Would you like to be more in control of how you react, behave, and proceed?

Feelings affecting behavior

It’s been said we need to ‘feel to heal’. This is a process where those subconscious thoughts are brought to the conscious mind so they can be dealt with. Instead of reacting poorly to controlling behavior, it’s possible to find out the source of your troubling reflexes, deal with them, and respond better the next time.

This brings me back to writing. Journaling will help you find the thoughts that cause difficulties in your life. You can then feel them, heal them, deal with them appropriately, and never have the hardship again.

Doesn’t that sound like a good idea?

I have found an effective way for you to accomplish that. So Now What? A Guided Workbook to Get Unstuck will be published in April. I have answered each of the over 200 questions for myself and discovered some amazing things. The realizations have given me greater understanding about my own behavior. I have had healing moments, discovery, and joy.

You can have this too

Question.jpeg

Here is a sample of the questions from the guided workbook.

From Chapter One - Fear

  • What are you really afraid of?

  • Where does your fear come from?

From Chapter Two - Feelings

  • What do you think your negative feelings are telling you?·

  • What makes you feel powerless in your life?

Asking yourself these questions brings your thoughts into your conscious mind where they can be dealt with. The process is free, and anyone can do it.

Pre-orders are available in the book store here.

All it takes is some self-reflection.
