Can you relate? Do you have too much to do and have too little time? Is it just a phase of life that we need to endure? Or is there a way to feel better and do better?

3 Strategies

There are 3 ways to get more energy back into your life.

1.      Take care of your body

Our bodies are the building we live in. We can’t get out of it and during our waking hours we are constantly aware of its strengths and limitations. Our bodies need to be cared for or it will feel like we’re living in an old abandoned shack without running water or electricity.

To have more energy, carve out time to get a good night’s sleep. You must prioritize your diet and eat properly. And, regardless of how much time you think you don’t have, you must move your body each and every day. Moderate exercise will give you energy, not take it away.

2.      Take care of your mind

Our minds are active during all our waking hours. That’s a lot of time! To assure this activity doesn’t zap your energy, your mind needs to rest each day. We can spend a lot of energy trying to control things that are not ours to control. We also say yes to activities we don’t energy for. And we can blame others for our lack of choices instead of owning our life and emotions.

To have more energy, be as kind to yourself as you are to others, only say yes to requests you are able to do without regret and take responsibility for the direction and choices of your life.

3.      Take care of your spirit

Our spirit is often ignored in the busyness of our lives. It requires care and maintenance, or the cares of the world will overwhelm it. We can rush through life without stopping to celebrate our successes or look forward to the future.  As we scramble from day to day, we forget to love our life and each experience we have.

To have more energy, make sure you take time each day to be grateful. This will increase your perspective and lift your mood. If you have a vacation or get together planned, think about how much fun the experience will be. Look for positive meaning, even in difficult circumstances and engage in activities, like a hobby, that you enjoy.
